Cyndi Lauper, Jane Lynch to star in 'Golden Girls'-esque series for Netflix

Thank you for being a friend ... again?

Jane Lynch accidentally let slip Sunday night at the Creative Arts Emmys that she and Cyndi Lauper just sold a new show to Netflix that she described as "'Golden Girls' for today."

"We're our age, I'm almost 60, she's 65, and we're looking for our next act without having had husbands or children," the "Party Down" and "Glee" alum said backstage at the awards show, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "There will be two other folks in it who haven't been cast yet."

Lynch was in town picking up her fifth Emmy, winning outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for her role as Sophie Lennon in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."

She declined to give any further details on the project and Netflix did not immediately return a request for comment.

Lauper, known best for her decades-long music career, has had several guest roles on shows including "Bones," "Mad About You" and the new "Magnum P.I."
