Cyclists set to enjoy Solway Sportive through stunning Dumfries and Galloway countryside

The popular Solway Sportive returns this weekend after a year off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting and finishing at Dumfries Rugby Club at park Farm, cyclists will be able to enjoy one of three routes through the stunning Dumfries and Galloway countryside.

The yellow route covers 43 miles, the blue route 76 miles and the red route 100 miles.

It will take riders as far afield as Carsphairn and Dalry and part of the route was used by pro cyclists in the 2019 Tour of Britain.

There will be feeding stations available on all three routes and there will be food and drink at the finish.

All riders can take part and electric bikes are permitted.

The sportive is organised by Dumfries Devorgilla Rotary Club and Dalbeattie Community Initiative to raise funds for good causes.

The Sportive can be entered on the day with registration taking place between 8am and10am.
