Cyclist thought to have come off his bike near Excalibur Drive roundabout in Thornhill, Cardiff, dies

A man died after he came off his bike and was found injured on a Cardiff road.

Emergency services were called to Thornhill Road where the man was found injured near the Excalibur Drive roundabout at around 10.45pm on Tuesday, September 15. The road was closed for a number of hours.

The man's family have been told and are being supported by family liaison officers from South Wales Police.

A spokesman for the force said: "South Wales Police can confirm that the man found injured in Thornhill on Tuesday, September 15, has died.

"Emergency services were called to Thornhill Road where a man was found injured in the road near the Excalibur Drive roundabout at around 10.45pm.

"It appears the man had come off his pushbike. The road was closed for a number of hours.

"Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.

"Inquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

"Anyone with information is asked to please contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence *338463."
