Cyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries following collision in Bolton

A cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an incident in Bolton.

Emergency services were called to reports of a road traffic collision in Bury Road, North Turton, just before 12.30pm this afternoon (June 1).

According to the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), a woman in her 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries, including some to the head.

A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC at 12.28pm. It involved a pushbike.

"We treated a woman in her 50s for serious injuries and we've taken her to Salford Royal Hospital.

"We also informed the police."

Bury Road was blocked off while emergency services dealt with the incident. There are not believed to be any other vehicles involved.
