Cyclist taken to hospital after crash involving car

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car.

South Wales Police were called to a road traffic collision between a car and a bicycle at around 4.25pm on Tuesday (June 29) on Gower Road in Sketty, Swansea.

The A4118 Gower Road was closed due to the incident from Glan Yr Afon Road to A4216 Dillwyn Road, Sketty Cross.

South Wales Police said that the cyclist, a 55-year-old Swansea woman, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales with "non-life-threatening" injuries.

A 37-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following a collision and has been taken to Swansea Central police station.

South Wales Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact South Wales Police, quoting reference 2100227814.
