Part of the main road through Southport town centre was closed off on Saturday night following a serious crash.
Lord Street was blocked by police for around 90 minutes as emergency services responded to a collision.
The incident involved a Toyota Prius and a cyclist and unfolded near the junction of Lord Street and Nevill Street just before 11.30pm.

Merseyside Police said the cyclist was taken to hospital with serious - but not life-threatening - injuries.
Lord Street was reopened to traffic around 1am.
