Cyclist suffers horrific facial injuries after being hit by car on major Liverpool road

Police were called to a serious collision involving a cyclist and a car in the city centre .

It happened on The Strand at around 8pm yesterday and involved a Chevrolet Cruze and a cyclist.

Emergency services were called to the scene, close to the Mercure hotel and St Nicholas church.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious but non-life threatening facial injuries.


The driver of the car stopped at the scene to assist with enquiries.

The area was temporarily closed off while police dealt with the incident.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Liverpool city centre yesterday, Wednesday, 27 November.


"Emergency services were called to The Strand at around 8pm following reports a Chevrolet Cruze had been in collision with a cyclist."
