Cyclist seriously injured in crash at Clapton-in-Gordano

A cyclist suffered serious injuries after he mysteriously came off his bike in Clapton-in-Gordano.

The man, aged in his 50s, was rushed to hospital, and is now in a stable condition following the crash on Naish Hill.

Detectives say the circumstances of how he gained his injured are 'unclear'.

Paramedics and firefighters raced to the incident at around 5:50pm yesterday (November 25).

The route was closed for more than four hours while police investigated.

Officers at Avon and Somerset Constabulary are now urging witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

PC Wayne Carhart said: “Our investigation is at an early stage and at the moment the circumstances around this incident are unclear.

“We’re conducting house-to-house and CCTV enquiries as we seek to build up a picture of what happened in the moments before the incident.
