Cyclist seriously injured in Chapeltown hit and run

A man was seriously injured in a hit and run near Roundhay Road, in Leeds.

The 32-year-old victim was knocked off his bike by a black Seat type car at 9pm on Wednesday evening (25 March).

He was left with serious head injuries and is currently being treated at Leeds General Infirmary.

The driver of the car stopped momentarily, but then drove on and left the scene without checking that the victim was okay.

The incident occurred on Spencer Place, near Roundhay Road, Chapeltown.

Police believe that the car would have sustained damage to the area near its fog lights.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to get in touch with West Yorkshire Police by calling 101 and quoting log number 1774 of 25/03/2020.
