A horror bus crash has left a cyclist hospitalised with serious injures.
Emergency crews raced to the scene on the A91 after the alarm was raised at around 5.35pm yesterday.
The cyclist was then rushed by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment to serious injuries.
Officers were forced to shut down the busy road near to its junction with Old Station Road in St Andrews as a result.
The area was then re-opened six hours later at around 11.30pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.35pm on Wednesday, 8 September, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving a bus and a cyclist on the A91, near to its junction with Old Station Road in St Andrews.
"Officers attended and the road was closed.
"The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken by Ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
"The road was fully reopened at 11.30pm."
