Cyclist rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after being hit by car

A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car and knocked off his bike in Falkirk last night.

Emergency services raced to Main Street in the Bainsford area of the town at around 8:25pm on Tuesday July 20.

The 62-year-old had been cycling along the canal towpath before heading on to the road near the junction with with Bankside.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta car involved in the accident was said to be uninjured.

Sergeant John Lang, of the Forth Valley Road Policing Unit, said: "Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident are ongoing and I would urge any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to get in touch.

"I would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage to make contact.

"If you can help please call 101, quoting incident 3690 of 20 July."
