A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after a collision with a lorry on a major north London thoroughfare.

A man in his forties suffered injured legs after a rush hour collision in High Road, Tottenham, shortly after 7am Thursday morning.

His condition is not thought to be life-threatening, said police.

Road closures remained in place Thursday morning, causing buses to be put on diversion and traffic build up around Seven Sisters Tube station.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and there have been no arrests, said a Scotland Yard spokesman.

He said: “Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the cyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment.

“His condition is not thought to be life threatening.”

Paramedics were called to the scene at 7.10am and treated the cyclist for his leg wounds at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre.

A picture from the scene showed a scaffolding lorry and police tape near to the junction.
