A cyclist was rushed to hospital after being knocked from his bike by a car on Friday
Police were called to the corner of Hawthorne Road and Linacre Road after reports of a black Ford 2 Tech hitting a cyclist in his 20s. The driver remained at the scene while helping police to carry out further inquiries.
The cyclist is currently being treated in hospital for injuries he received to his arms and legs. The road was cordoned off while police dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We received reports of a collision between a black Ford 2 Tech and a cyclist in his 20s. The cyclist is now being treated in hospital for his injuries.
"We thank drivers for their patience while the road was cleared and if there are still delays we ask drivers to avoid the area and find an alternate route."
