Cyclist rushed to hospital after being hit by car near Braehead

A cyclist was hospitalised after being hit by a car near Braehead last night.

Police and ambulance crews raced to the scene of the crash, involving the cyclist and a red Toyota, on Renfrew Road around 7:40pm.

Police have confirmed that the female cyclist was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Her condition is not known at present.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We were called around 7.40pm to a report of a crash involving a cyclist and a car (red toyota) on Renfrew Road, Glasgow.

"The female cyclist was taken by ambulance to the QEUH.

"Enquiries are ongoing".
