Cyclist robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight by thieves on motorbike wearing ski masks

A cyclist was threatened with a knife by robbers on a motorbike wearing ski masks before having his bike stolen in broad daylight.

The male victim was robbed on Wednesday afternoon in Trafford , police said.

Now police have released images of the distinctive green bike as they appeal for help with the investigation.

The cyclist was on a canal towpath in Stretford when the robbery took place.

The two robbers were on a motorcycle and demanded that he handed over his bike.

After refusing they showed him the handle of a knife, and in fear for his safety, the cyclist then handed over the bike.

The offenders then drove off towards Barton Dock Road.

On the GMP Trafford North Facebook page, officers said: "Personal Robbery yesterday afternoon near Canal Towpath at Parkway Stretford, near AK Worthington Depot.

"Victim approached by two unknown offenders on a motorcycle, wearing ski masks, who demanded he hand over his pedal cycle.

"When he initially refused one of them showed him the handle of a knife and in fear of violence he handed it over and offenders made off towards Barton Dock Road.

"Please let us know if you witnessed this or have any information to the whereabouts of the distinctive pedal cycle stolen."
