Cyclist remains in 'critical condition' after crash near Clevedon Pier

A cyclist remains in a critical condition in hospital after a crash near Clevedon Pier.

Officers and paramedics were called to Marine Parade just after 3pm on Tuesday, September 15.

A cordon was put in place between Marine Parade to The Beach, as police searched the area for evidence. The road was closed for more than four hours.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary is still investigating the smash, and a spokesman has confirmed the injured man is still in a critical condition.

The spokesperson said: "We were called just after 3pm by the ambulance (service) to Marine Parade in Clevedon following a cyclist colliding with a vehicle.

"He’s critical but stable."

Speaking on the day of the crash, a witnesssaid: "Apparently a cyclist and car in collision, cyclist taken to hospital.

"Plenty of police still on scene."
