Cyclist killed in A369 crash was 43-year-old from Bristol

A cyclist who died in a crash on the A369 was a 43-year-old from Bristol.

The collision happened on the Martcombe Road, near junction 19 for the M5, at around 10pm on Wednesday (September 4).

The road was closed in both directions after the incident and didn't open until around 4am this morning.

Police later confirmed that a cyclist had been killed in the collision.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has now released more information about the victim and are appealing for witnesses of the crash to come forward.

"We’re appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A369 at Easton-in-Gordano," a police spokesperson said.

"The collision, which happened at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, involved a Ford Fiesta and a cyclist.

"The cyclist, a 43-year-old man from Bristol, sadly died as a result of his injuries.

"If you saw any part of this collision, or have any information which could help us, please call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and give the call handler the reference number CI/121/19."
