Cyclist in critical condition following horror collision with lorry in Dublin

A man is in a critical condition following a horror collision involving a bike and a lorry in west Dublin.

The shocking incident happened at around 2pm on the Station Road near the junction with Crag Avenue in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on Thursday.

The cyclist, aged in his 40s, was rushed to Tallaght Hospital where his condition is being described as critical.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured, Dublin Live reports.

The road was closed for a forensic examination and and local diversions were put in place.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí at Ronanstown are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at this time to make the footage available to Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 01 666 7700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
