Cyclist hospitalised after being struck by car in Shettleston

A cyclist has been hospitalised after being struck by a car outside Tesco in Shettleston.

The incident occurred around 4.10pm this afternoon on Old Shettleston Road, with the road closed for a period of time as a result.

Police and emergency services attended the scene, and the cyclist was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

A Police spokeswoman confirmed: "At 4.10pm police were called to Tesco on Old Shettleston Road following reports of a cyclist being struck by a vehicle. The cyclist was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary."
