Cyclist hits woman in Portishead leaving facial injuries

A woman suffered facial injuries after being knocked to the ground by a cyclist in Portishead.

The 65-year-old was getting out of her car on Burlington Road on September 25 when a man was riding along the pavement.

The cyclist knocked the woman over, according to the police, causing her to fall and land on her face.

The cyclist failed to stop, while the woman needed treatment for her injuries in hospital.

Avon and Somerset police said the cyclist is believed to be a black male adult with short curly hair. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident, which took place between 8am-10am.

A police spokesperson added: "We would like the cyclist or anyone who may have seen the incident to contact us, quoting reference 5219221968."
