A cyclist who attacked a pedestrian he had nearly collided with is being sought by police in London.
Footage shows the man almost smashing into his city worker victim after running a red light in central Farringdon Street.
But, apparently angered by the near miss, CCTV shows him getting off his bike, following the 57-year-old and, without warning, headbutting him to the ground – before riding off again.
Police say the attack left the victim, who has not been named, with damaged arm ligaments where he fell, and needing stitches to a gash above his right eye.
Footage of the incident, which happened at 1.45pm on 22 August, has now been released by officers searching for the attacker. It also shows several onlookers visibly upset by the assault.
A spokesperson with City of London Police said: “We are asking the public to help us identify this cyclist, whose needlessly violent actions has left a member of the public with some nasty injuries.”
The man is described as a white male in his 40s, around 5ft 10, of medium build with short greying hair.
