The body of a cyclist was found by search and rescue crews who were on their way to rescue a teenager who had fallen ill on Dartmoor.
The man was found dead by a Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team at the Eylesbarrow track near Nun's Cross at 8.48pm on Saturday.
The crew also found the aftermath of a bicycle crash, and the man's body was stretchered to a search and rescue vehicle, DevonLive reports.
A spokesperson for the rescue team said: "One of our Team’s doctors was diverted from his original tasking whilst police and ambulance were requested to attend. Sadly the subject was confirmed as deceased and we stretchered him to our RV.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time."
The age of the cyclist has not yet been revealed.
The rescue team had been on their way to help a 17-year-old teenager who had fallen unwell on her Duke of Edinburgh assignment when they found the dead cyclist.

The crew had been called at 7.13pm to help a hypothermic teenager who was having fits and could not complete her expedition.
The teenager was treated by crew members at around 9pm before being stretchered to an ambulance.
Dartmoor Search and Rescue said: "The casualty was a 17-year-old girl in a group of Duke of Edinburgh Award Gold Expedition walkers, and she had been experiencing fitting intermittently and could not continue.
"A hasty hill party was deployed to the grid reference given, near Erme Pits, and arrived on site by 9pm.
"After assessment the casualty was given glucose and insulated to prevent further heat loss as she was already mildly hypothermic.
"A request was made for a helicopter evacuation, and Maritime Coastguard Agency helo 924 was deployed to assist.
"SWAST HART Team also arrived on site at 9.30pm and duty of care was transferred to them.
"Because of thick, low cloud cover the helicopter had to abort its mission and so our members stretchered the casualty to waiting ambulance vehicles on the Red Lake track which leads down towards Ivybridge.
"Our hill parties then walked back in heavy rain and mist to Plym Ford, where they were picked up by Team Land Rovers and driven back to our RV at Peat Cot, arriving there at 2.15am."
