A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision with a lorry in Trafford.
Emergency services were called to Wheel Forge Way at around 2.10pm on Friday afternoon to reports of a crash between a truck and a cyclist.
The cyclist, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He remains in hospital fighting for his life.
Ashburton Road West was cordoned off for most of the afternoon as police and ambulance crews remained on scene.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene to help police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnesses the collision to come forward and assist with their investigation.
Detective Constable Emma Kennedy, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We’re very much thinking of the injured cyclist and his family as he receives treatment in hospital and hope that he makes a full recovery.
"We are working hard to piece together the circumstances surrounding this collision and have carried out a number of enquiries including capturing witness statements and analysing CCTV footage.
"But we’re still keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with any information or dash-cam footage.
"Please get in touch with police if you have any information that could assist us with our investigation."
