A cyclist in his 80s is fighting for his life in hospital after he was found seriously injured on the street in Trafford.
The man was found lying injured on Thorley Lane at the junction with Edenhurst Drive in Timperley on Sunday (May 31).
Police rushed to the scene at around 12.10pm.
The cyclist was taken to hospital. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing, a GMP spokesman said.
Police do not know what happened in the moments leading up to the incident, other than the fact he fell from his bike. The area is not covered by CCTV, a tweet by traffic officers said.
They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward as it may help them piece together the details.
Sgt Matt Picton of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a tragic incident were a man in his 80s has suffered serious injuries as a result of this incident.
"My thoughts are with the gentleman and his family.
"I would appeal to anyone who has any dashcam footage or anyone who witnessed the incident to please contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4740 quoting incident number 1408 of May 31.
