A cyclist in his 50s has died after a hit-and-run crash in Melbourne's southeastern suburbs. (AAP)

A cyclist has died after a hit-and-run crash in Melbourne's southeast.

The man in his 50s was struck at an intersection in Hampton Park about 4.30am on Thursday.

He was treated by emergency services but died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
