Police appeal after cyclist dies in crash at Stirling roundabout

A male cyclist has died following a crash at a busy Stirling roundabout.

The road was closed for more than three hours after the incident which occurred around 2pm yesterday (Wednesday).

A bystander told the Observer yesterday afternoon shortly after the incident: “Police and fire brigade are at the scene just now. It looks very serious to me.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 2.10pm on Wednesday, 8 September, to a report of a crash at the Craigforth roundabout east, Stirling, involving a car and a cyclist.

“The cyclist, a man, died at the scene.

“The road was closed to allow collision investigation work to take place. It re-opened around 5.45pm.

“Enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and if anyone has any information that could help with our enquires please call us on 101, quoting incident number 1974 of Wednesday, 8 September.”

Scottish Fire and Rescue were contacted for comment.
