Cyclist dies in accident on A60

A cyclist died in what police described as 'a single-vehicle accident' to the north of the county.

Police officers were called to the A60 in Oldcotes at around 10.30am on Saturday, June 5, after a report of the incident.

A 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Police Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident that has seen a man lose his life.

“Our thoughts are with the cyclist's family and they will be supported by specially-trained officers.

“I am very keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed this incident or who may have been driving in the area and captured it on dash-cam footage.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 305 of June 5.
