Cyclist dies after crash on A369 Martcombe Road

A cyclist has died after a crash near Bristol.

Police were called to the incident on the A369 Martcombe Road, near junction 19 for the M5, at around 10pm last night (September 4).

The road was closed in both directions after the incident and didn't open until around 4am this morning, Somerset Live reports.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has now confirmed the cyclist involved in the crash has died.

Motorists were advised to avoid the closure by taking Beggar Bush lane to Clevedon Road and M5 traffic was diverted via Avonmouth and onto Clevedon.

There was also a on the M4 yesterday.

The incident happened shortly before 10.30am when a HGV careered off the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge and plunged down an embankment.

Emergency crews - including an air ambulance - raced to the scene and a male driver was airlifted to hospital , who then died hours later.
