A Tasmanian cyclist aged in her 70s has died in a crash on the Bass Highway, near Ulverstone.
Police said preliminary investigations indicate the woman veered into traffic and was struck by a small car travelling in the same direction.
She died at the scene a short time later.
In a statement, Tasmania Police offered its condolences.
"Our thoughts are with the woman's family and loved ones," it said.
Further investigations are continuing and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
