Cyclist dies after being struck by car in Youghal, Co Cork

A cyclist has died after being struck by a car this evening.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the collision on the Lower Corkhill Road in Youghal, Co Cork today.

At around 7pm officers were alerted to a collision between a bike and car on the road.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has since been removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem will take place.

A Garda forensic team is currently at the scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardai said in a statement: "Gardai are appealing for anyone with any information, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), to contact Youghal Garda station on 024 92200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
