Cyclist dies after being hit by truck in Pascoe Vale South in Melbourne's inner north

A cyclist was fatally hit by a truck in Pascoe Vale South.

A cyclist has died and police are investigating after a road collision in Melbourne's inner north.

The 43-year-old Brunswick West man was cycling near the intersection of Brearley Parade and Melville Road in Pascoe Vale South at around 1:30pm on Tuesday when he was hit by a truck.

He died at the scene.

Police said the circumstances around the crash are not yet known.

The man is the fifth cyclist to die in Victoria this year, according to the state government's Transport Accident Commission.

The truck driver stopped after the crash and has been assisting investigators.

Victoria Police is urging anyone who witnessed the accident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
