Cyclist dies after being hit by bus in Bridgwater area

A cyclist has died after being hit by a bus near Bridgwater.

The collision happened on a minor road at Robbery Wood near Stockland Bristol at about 5.40pm yesterday (January 20).

The cyclist received treatment at the scene but sadly died shortly afterwards.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary initially appealed for information to try and identify the man who died.

The force it has now identified him, but is still appealing for witnesses.

A police spokesperson said: "We believe we have now identified the cyclist who sadly died in the collision last night near Bridgwater. Thanks to all who RT'd our appeal.

"We're still appealing for witnesses. If you have any information, please call us ref 5220015515. Thank you."
