Cyclist attacked by driver in road rage incident in east Bristol

A driver attacked a cyclist during a road rage incident in east Bristol, according to police.

Officers have launched an investigation following the assault on Fishponds Road, near Royate Hill, at 1.50pm on Monday, September 7.

Police are looking for a male driver of a dark vehicle, believed to be a Volkswagen Golf.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries during the attack, and his bike was also damaged.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said: "We're asking witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage showing an altercation between a cyclist and a driver in Bristol earlier this month to come forward.

"The driver approached the cyclist and assaulted him. The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained minor injuries. His bike was also damaged.

"A number of people approached the victim at the scene and we're asking them to get in touch with the police if they have not already.

"Anyone who saw what happened, or has footage, can report the information online or call 101 and give the call-handler reference 5220203217."
