Cyclist, 66, dies after collision with bus on major north Wales road

A cyclist has died after a collision on one of the main roads in north Wales.

North Wales Police reported yesterday (Saturday) that officers were investigating a fatal road traffic collision between a bus and cyclist that resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man on the A4086 between Pen-y-Pass and Nant Peris.

Police were informed of the collision at around 11.40am. Emergency services attended and the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the incident and was reopened at 6.20pm.

Sergeant Raymond Williams from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I offer my profound sympathies to the family of the cyclist, who are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time.

“We are currently investigating this incident as a fatal road traffic collision and ask that any witnesses, who have not already come forward, to contact the police with any information or dash cam footage.

“I would like to thank road users for your patience and understanding whilst the road was closed”.

"If you have any information about this incident, please get in touch via webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference z141608."
