Cyclist, 30, dies after crash with car towing caravan

A 30-year-old cyclist has died after a crash with a car towing a caravan in Gwynedd .

The crash happened on Sunday, August 11.

Shortly after 1.30pm North Wales Police was contacted by the Welsh Ambulance Service reporting a two vehicle collision on the A493 in Arthog in Gwynedd where a cyclist had collided with a Honda CRV which had been towing a caravan.

The cyclist was airlifted to hospital in Stoke-on-Trent but he died during in the early hours of this morning.

The road remained shut for more than three hours, North Wales Live reported .

Sergeant Meurig Jones of the Roads Policing Unit has appealed for witnesses.

He said: "Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.

"We are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have seen the cyclist just prior to the collision to come forward.

"Our investigation is underway and anybody who may be able to assist is urged to contact us on 101 or via our live web chat quoting reference number X115603."
