An ambulance took both the cyclist, an 11-year-old boy, and the motorbike rider to hospital.

The boy suffered a head injury, a North West Ambulance Service Spokesperson said.

One eyewitness said: “I saw a helicopter land on the field at the back, and I heard that a kid had been hit by a scrambler bike.

“Police and ambulance were there, there was a rapid response unit there in seconds.”

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.

A North West Ambulance Service Spokesperson said: “We have taken both the motorbike rider and the cyclist to the hospital by ambulance.

“The cyclist, an 11-year-old boy, suffered a head injury.”
