Cycle path near Pilton's Ainslie Park taped off by police after 36-year-old man raped

A cycle path near Pilton's Ainslie Park was this morning taped off as police investigate the serious sexual assault of a 36-year-old man.

The incident is reported to have happened in the early hours of this morning (Monday, 28 October).

An area between Ainslie Park and the East Pilton Farm area has been taped off with officers standing guard.

And on Monday afternoon Police Scotland said that their inquiries into the incident were ongoing.

A spokesperson said: "Police in Edinburgh are investigating a report that a 36-year-old man was the victim of a serious sexual assault in the Pilton area in the early hours of Monday, 28 October.

"Inquiries are ongoing."
