Cyberpunk 2077 will soon receive a big update with patch 1.3

It's no secret that when Cyberpunk 2077 came out that many gamers were not too impressed with the state it had been released in.

It was missing many features gamers were expecting to be included and many - particularly those using the base PS4 and Xbox - complained of bugs and poor frame rates.

It was so bad that Sony took the executive decision to take Cyberpunk 2077 off the PlayStation store and offer refunds for everyone that bought digital copies - after a few months, it was put back on the store but with a warning regarding performance issues.

Nonetheless, CD Projekt Red has dedicated itself to improve the game after its launch with hotfixes and patch updates.

They announced details on Monday evening on the next Patch update which will haul some major improvements for the game's mechanics.

A full list of the Patch updates will be released this evening on Red's Twitch stream at 5 pm BST.

Before the stream takes place, here are the details on Patch 1.3 provided by CD Projekt Red.

Improved mini-map

The mini-map visible in the corner of the screen when playing Cyberpunk 2077 will be zoomed out in Patch 1.3.

This will enable players to navigate the map better, especially when driving.

Players have complained that a small mini-map has made it nearly impossible to drive in the game when relying on the sat-nav because they haven't got enough time to react to changing the direction of their vehicle.

“With the new minimap system software update you are able to see more and navigate better," says Andrzej, Programmer for CD Projekt Red

UI Improvement for Clouds quest

In the 'Automatic Love' quest in Cyberpunk 2077, players have to make a choice between two characters to progress the story.

However, when the choice is presented to players it's not clear what character they're choosing or why.

The Patch 1.3 update improves this section of the quest and improves the clarity of choice for the player.

"It was one of my first tasks when I moved to this project and I was digging into code for a long time because I wanted to understand our UI videos system, and at the end I realised that the problem is in video setup," said Natalia, UI Programmer for CD Projekt Red

"Value for video time was shorter than the video sequence. This way, players will better understand the decision they are making in this story sequence."

Cheaper perk reset

The final part of the update revealed is the implementation of reducing the price to reset perks in Cyberpunk 2077.

This means players will have to sacrifice a lot less to experiment with building their character in-game.

“For our players, this feature will mean safer experimentation with builds. It is easily accessible and affordable for everyone, so there is no need to hesitate while investing in particular perks,” said Katarína, Gameplay Designer for CD Projekt Red.
