The grand Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 patch has finally arrived, and with it, a literal mountain of bug fixes alongside a few anthills of quality of life improvements. It’s a massive patch, one that CDPR is hoping will get the game back on the PlayStation store, but for players who have already put a ton of time in, there’s not really that much new to play around with, other than summoning police who now arrive slightly slower.
That should be about to change, however.
As far as I can tell, Cyberpunk 2077 has introduced two different additions, one public-facing, one buried in the backend, that tease two upcoming bits of DLC, things that jibe with a recent list of leaked DLC names for what everyone assumes will be the free DLC that was promised a long while back.
First up, the image below shows a change from the original character attribute menu to the new menu in patch 1.2
Previously, there was just a blank space you could hover over and it would glitch out, which everyone assumed with a missing or cut attribute and set of skill trees. But now? There is a new “Relic” symbol there that has been added in 1.2. Perhaps not significant given that the entire premise of the game is V dealing with the Relic in her head, but A) why would they add this now? And more importantly B) “Relic” is the name of one of the leaked DLCs. Everyone assumed even before this it would be about that missing sixth attribute node, and this new development clearly serves to reinforce this.
The second DLC tease is something that most players can’t find on their own. Before this patch, players could input a console command that would get them a new piece of Cyberware inaccessible in the actual game, Optical Camo. But it didn’t actually do anything.
That has now changed in patch 1.2. The legendary Optical Camo cyberware now actually does what it’s supposed to do, it makes you invisible for a period of time. You can see it in action below:
This seems like it would tie into an item that is about to actually be introduced in the game, and guess what the name of one of the leaked DLCs is? The Ripperdoc Expansion. Seems like the prime place for it.
So far as I can tell, these are the only two teases that directly connect to the leaked list of DLC names, but they reinforce that the list is almost certainly real, and we will likely see even more hints as we get closer to the midpoint of the year, as this free DLC is supposed to be out in the next few months in the first half of 2021. More to come, stay tuned.
