Despite the strain on household income due to almost a year spent in the grip of a pandemic, shoppers are still expected to spend big this Christmas, according to market research agency Mintel.
And it seems that the end of November sales have been a bumper bonanza for retailers in 2020, with many experiencing website crashes under the volume of traffic, and stock of high demand items such as televisions running out quickly.
However, the Black Friday weekend is not over yet, and we are now in to Cyber Monday - the last day of the sale, when traditionally final discounts are applied and it's the last chance for consumers to take advantage of low prices.
Amazon has a huge Cyber Monday promotion running all day today (November 30) and keen-eyed shoppers might have delayed some purchases in the hope of catching a further bargain in today's last chance saloon.
