A cafe popular for its Instagram-ready decor has been named the best in the North West at the Food Awards England.
Rose Tree Tea Room in Ormskirk won top prize last night, going head to head with restaurants, cafes and bistros across the UK.
The awards recognise the achievements of local suppliers, wholesalers, chefs and restaurants which serve the community and work tirelessly to deliver great customer service.
The winners are considered by the awards to be “a true reflection of the quality and excellence that highlight the English food industry”.
Rose Tree Tea Room was announced as the Cafe/Bistro of the Year North West.
Owners of the cafe took to Instagram to announce the news, in a post which read: "Cafe/Bistro of the year North West WINNERS.
"What on Earth!!!!!!! Yayyyy super super super happy! My amazing mum has had the tea-room for almost 9 years, and has worked so hard to make the tea-room what it is.
"THANK YOU to all who nominated us - means the world! We love our job and we love our little tea room".
The cafe, which described itself as “tiny” but has a huge following, is known throughout for its huge floral displays, flower walls and more.
The quaint cafe serves everything from cakes and afternoon tea to health lunch dishes and a range of vegan options.
Rose Tree Tea Rooms is rated 4.5 on Trip Advisor with customers praising its team for “the most gorgeous food” and calling the venue a “beautiful little tea room”.
