Two adorable reindeer babies at a Scots wildlife park have been named after the weather.
The European forest calves were born at the Highland Wildlife Park, near Kingussie, in May while the popular visitor was closed due to lockdown.
Keepers at the park have now revealed the unique names given to the two boys - Regnar and Solen, which mean rain and sun in Swedish.
The duo will fit right in with another young reindeer who was named Tuuli, meaning Wind, last year in keeping with the weather theme.
The duo are now on display at the wildlife park but visitors are being told to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Keith Gilchrist, animal collection manager at Highland Wildlife Park, said, “We are all really excited about our new additions and delighted to be able to welcome visitors back to meet them.
“Our two boys are doing well and have been named in keeping with our weather theme following on from the birth of Tuuli last year, whose name means wind in Finnish.
“Both boys share the same dad, Sven. With Regnar being born to mum Freya and Solen to mum Sahti.”
While the park is now open, with a wide range of safety measures in place to protect visitors and staff, it is still an incredibly difficult time for the charity.
