'Cut out the middle man' - Nottingham Forest fans send transfer message to Sheffield United chief Chris Wilder

Joe Worrall is the latest Nottingham Forest player to be linked with a move to Sheffield United.

Hucknall-born Worrall, a mainstay in Sabri Lamouchi’s starting XI this season, joins Matty Cash in being tipped for a move to Bramall Lane during the summer transfer window.

United have already seen a £10m bid for the flying full-back rejected, with the Reds believed to value him closer to £15m, and now the Sun claim they’re also keeping tabs on Worrall.

And Chris Wilder’s liking for Forest players has not gone unnoticed by City Ground supporters.

The ex-Alfreton Town boss has already snaffled Ben Osborn and Jack Robinson from Forest in the past year, with those two joining David McGoldrick and Billy Sharp in the Blades’ squad.

Up until last month, former Reds academy graduate Kieron Freeman was another former Red on the Blades’ books, though he was at Bramall Lane prior to Wilder’s arrival and has since been released, with a return to Nottingham on the cards.

Not only that, Wilder has a player, in Luke Freeman, that Sabri Lamouchi wanted in January and would like to see signed before the season starts afresh on September 12.

The playing staff are not the only connection to Forest, with Wilder’s goalkeeping coach Darren Ward, a veteran of more than one hundred appearances on Trentside, along with over 300 shared between Mansfield Town and Notts County.

It won't therefore, come as much of a surprise, to see fans having a bit of fun with Wilder...
