Customers warned on TripAdvisor to avoid 'diabolical' KFC

A Merseyside KFC bombarded with terrible reviews across TripAdvisor has had a new management team installed.

The St Helens branch of the fast food chain, located on the Central Retail Park, Todd Road, is rated as the worst place to eat for a quick bite in St Helens by review site TripAdvisor, coming in at 34th of 34 restaurants on the site.

Of 154 reviews for the restaurant on the site as of October 8 2021, 114 gave the lowest possible rating of 'Terrible' while seven gave the highest rating of 'Excellent'.

Today KFC told the ECHO the site had had a recent makeover and change of management team.

Many of the reviews advise people to not visit the restaurant, while one poster on TripAdvisor complained of the store lacking the equipment needed.

They said: "There are some good and some not so good KFC restaurants. This one in my home town is diabolical. For at least my last 10 visits, the hot drinks machine has been 'out of order'."

Another review on the site calls it "The worst KFC", going on to say "I like chicken and I regularly go to KFC, apart from the one in St Helens which I now avoid. it never has certain items that are on the menu. There has been a variety of times my wife has wanted a salad and they never have any...ever!!!"

A Facebook post in popular local group People of St Helens said: "Avoid KFC St Helens absolutely shocking service freezing chicken then burnt chicken absolutely ridiculous"

A KFC Spokesperson said: “The Colonel is passionate about his food always being finger lickin’ good, so we’re sorry to see these reviews.

"We’ve given the restaurant a little TLC in the last few months with a well-deserved make over and a brand-new management team. but we’d always encourage our fans to get in touch when things don’t go to plan so we can try to make it right!"
