Customers evacuated from Soar Braehead after fire breaks out in electrical box

Customers were evacuated from Soar Braehead this afternoon after a fire broke out in an electrical box.

Emergency services raced to the busy leisure complex on Kings Inch Road, Renfrew around 1.30pm following reports of a small electrical fire.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find the fire had been extinguished.

Customers waited outside the premises until fire crews had ensured the electrical box was safe.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We got called out to a report of a fire at Soar Braehead at 1:26pm.

"We had four pumps in attendance but the fire in a small electrical box had been extinguished before they got there.

"All crews left the area at 1.58pm."
