Customers can't stop giggling after finding 'unusual' Wilko deal

One eagle-eyed shopper spotted a deal that was too bad to be true at a high street store.

The customer took to social media to highlight a price difference she encountered at a Wilko store.

Out shopping for some gardening essentials, one Facebook user stumbled upon what she at first thought was a half price wheelbarrow, reports TheMirror.

The item, which was previously £36, had been put on the shop floor with a red sign - often symbolic of a reduction.

However, on closer inspection, it appeared the item couldn't be further from a 'deal' if it tried.

The product, Wilko's 'galvanised steel wheelbarrow 85L' had been listed for £36, despite previously being £18.

Its former price - the cheaper rate - had been slashed, and replaced by a 'You save -£18' sign - and shoppers have been finding it hilarious online.

On Facebook page  Latest Deals  , one shopper wrote: "There are loads of these deals in store and online, you had one job", while another said "This is the second offer I have seen of Wilko charging more than it was."

However, while shoppers have been quick to brand it a con, a quick search online reveals all is not lost as the item is indeed £18 - although no mention is made of its former, £36 price online.

“At Wilko we pride ourselves on giving our customers great value products to get their daily lives sorted.  We’d like to thank this eagle-eyed customer for spotting this, we’ve fixed it,” a Wilko comment told Mirror Money.
