Customer attacked as men 'armed with gun and knife' storm South Dublin bookies

Brazen wannabe thieves allegedly armed with a gun fled a South Dublin bookies empty-handed.

One man suffered minor injuries after a gang of three stormed the Ladbrokes on Sallynoggin Road on Wednesday evening.

The men, allegedly armed with a gun and knife, ended up fleeing the scene without any money or goods.

A customer was attacked but was OK and didn't need any medical treatment.

A garda spokesperson confirmed the incident to Dublin Live and said the investigation is ongoing.

"Gardaí are investigating an incident at a bookmakers in the Sallynoggin Road area of 16/10/19.

"Three males entered the premises allegedly armed with a firearm and a knife.

"All three males fled the scene without any money / stolen goods.

"A customer, a man in his 40s, was assaulted in this incident. No medical attention was required. Investigations are ongoing."
