Curtis Warren's sordid affair with a female prison officer will see her sent to jail over their sexual relationship.
Drug kingpin Warren and Stephanie Smithwhite began their affair in June 2018 and is believed to have carried on for several months.
Smithwhite was an officer at HMP Frankland, near Durham, where the 57-year-old gangster was serving time for a range of drug offences .
Chronicle Live reports that the 40-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of misconduct in a public office at Durham Crown Court .

The first count related to their sexual relationship, said to have lasted between June and December 2018.
The second count related to her not reporting that she knew he had access to a smuggled phone.
It was understood this small phone was a so-called "prison phone" little bigger than a £2 coin.
Smithwhite, who is from Boldon Colliery, South Tyneside, will be sentenced on February 7, and was told by the judge to expect time behind bars.
She was granted bail in the meantime.
Judge Jonathan Carroll said: "You have pleaded guilty to these two serious offences, you understand, I am certain, how serious they are.
"The overwhelming likelihood is this will be followed by an immediate custodial sentence.
"Your background should be fully investigated before I pass sentence, you should understand the purpose is to assist me with the length rather than the type of disposal."
Earlier in the hearing, the judge said: "The level of the breach of trust in a case like this is profound."
One of the UK's most notorious criminals , Curtis Warren is serving a jail sentence for attempting to smuggle cannabis into Jersey.
He was sentenced to 13 years over the £1m conspiracy - though Interpol's former most wanted has always maintained he is the victim of a miscarriage of justice.
The 56-year-old has since been handed an extra 10 years after failing to pay back a £198m fortune investigators believe he made from global dealing.
The Jersey conspiracy came after he was released from a Dutch prison after serving part of a 12-year sentence for importing 317kg of cocaine into Holland and possessing MDMA, cannabis, guns, hand grenades and CS canisters.
He also served additional time for the manslaughter of a fellow inmate, a convicted Turkish killer.
Still locked up, when he is released he will be hit with an SCPO that will limit his ability to communicate with others, travel and control cash and assets.
