Curtis Pritchard's embarrassing TV mistake about Dublin outshines Maura Higgins' Ireland geography blunder

Curtis Pritchard has outshone his former flame Maura Higgins after making an embarrassing geography gaffe about our beloved Dublin.

The Dancing with The Stars Ireland and Love Island contestant made the unforgivable blunder while featuring on the E4 show 'Celebs Go Dating'.

Trying to get to know her famous date a bit better, fellow dater Sophie asked Curtis what his favourite countries were to which he replied: 'I Love both Dublin and Amsterdam'.

We love that the professional dancer holds the capital in as high an esteem as Amsterdam but the finger was soon pulled out of the hole in the dam when he was told that neither are a country.

He's not alone though.

In December, Maura Higgins labelled herself an "idiot sandwich" after she lost £10k on The Wheel by saying Cork was further from Tipperary than Donegal.

Maura was called up to help contestant Barry with the question: "Geographically speaking, from which of these Irish counties would it be most accurate to say 'It's a long way to Tipperary'?"

The options were Limerick, Donegal, Cork or Dublin, and Maura, who is from County Longford, was left utterly baffled.

Maura told Barry: "Donegal I think, Donegal is up north, I would say Donegal is the furthest I think.

"I am between Donegal and Cork I think... This is pressure!

"But I also think Cork is the furthest... Oh this is so hard!" she said, changing her mind several times.

But sadly for Maura, the answer was of course Donegal, leaving the Longford beauty embarrassed.

Taking to Twitter days later, Maura shared a gif of the moment Gordan Ramsay labelled a contestant an "idiot sandwich".

The Love Island star captioned the tweet "Yep" alongside a load of laughy faces.
