Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins became the latest Love Island couple to split this week, but not everyone is surprised it's over.
The dancer's childhood friend has denied allegations that he cheated on her, but said he didn't think Maura, 29, was ever "that into" Curis, 24.
They told OK! Online : "Throughout the relationship all I've ever seen is Curtis gushing about how much he loves Maura.
"He was genuinely so happy with her. I think the problem may have been on her side and not his.
"Curtis is genuinely a nice guy. He has never cheated on any girlfriends as far as I know and I'm pretty sure he didn’t cheat on Maura."
The friend also said that while Curtis has publicly professed his love for Maura she didn't return the gesture.
They added: "Maybe she just wanted a way out of the relationship and wasn't that in to him after leaving the villa.
"I do feel bad for Curtis because he’s taken the high road and won't get involved in a slanging match with someone he cared so much for."
Mirror Online has contacted Maura and Curtis' reps for comment.
There have been several conflicting reports about why the couple broke up.
Maura's reps have denied claims that she had grown close to her Dancing On Ice partner Alex Demetriou.
Prior to this, it was also claimed the Irish beauty confronted Curtis over gossip he had cheated on her with AJ Pritchard's backing dancer Amber Pierson.
Talk has also questioned whether Maura and Curtis were forced to fake their romance for three months in a bid to stay in the limelight.
Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague have been the only couple from the 2018 summer Love Island series to stand the test of time.
